Elephone Vowney Pre-Orders Kick Off On October 26th

Elephone is one of the more interesting China-based companies. Elephone is not exactly a high profile company like ZTE or Huawei, but they’ve been making really great progress in the last year or so. Elephone released P7000 and P8000 devices which were made out of metal and sport really compelling specs, best of all, they’re quite affordable and available all over the world. The company has also announced that they plan to release an Android Wear-powered smartwatch, the ELE Watch, as well as the ‘Vowney‘ high-end smartphone. That’s not all though, three P9000 devices are on their way as well, and the highest-end one will sport no side bezels, as you can see here.

That being said, we have some new Vowney info to share with you. The company has reached out and informed us that they’re in the final stage of testing Vowney’s software, and that the device will be available for pre-order starting October 26th. The phone will be available for pre-order until November 20th, which is also the date Elephone will start shipping this device to those who pre-ordered it. We guess that the phone will be available for open sale starting November 20th as well. The pricing is said to start at $299 for the lower-end variant, though this hasn’t been confirmed just yet. Elephone has already showed off Vowney renders in the past, and has revealed all of its specs, but we do have two real life images to share with you as well. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see Vowney from both its front and back side, and as you can see in the third image, it will run Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The Elephone Vowney will be available in two variants, the ‘Lite’ variant will sport 3GB of RAM, while the regular variant will ship with 4GB of RAM on the inside. The device will feature a 5.5-inch or QHD (depending on the variant), and MediaTek’s Helio X10 64-bit octa-core SoC will fuel this smartphone. The 4,000mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and a 21-megapixel shooter (Sony’s IMX230 sensor) will be placed on the back of the Elephone Vowney. The 8-megapixel camera will be available up front, and Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed here. Keep in mind that Elephone’s skin for Android is very light, this will be an almost stock experience with some added gestures and apps.
