There has been a lot of apps which have gained a considerable amount of attention in the last few months and a number of them have been from Google. For instance, the company’s Photos app was only announced back at the end of May of this year and has hit the headlines consistently and routinely ever since. The most recent being the confirmation which came through last week that the app is already serving 100 million users. Considering the age of the app, this is quite an impressive feat.
Well, one of the older Google apps which has been getting its fair share of attention lately is the Hangouts app. Before the start of this month, there was much anticipation surrounding Hangouts and an update which was due to arrive bringing the app up to version 5.0. However, the anticipation came to an end when version 5.0 began rolling out about two weeks ago. In spite of the update bing one which had been consistently talked about prior to its release, when it did arrive, it did not seem to arrive with quite as many upgrades as many had originally anticipated. In fact, the biggest change seemed to be a fix for GIF images.
Following on from that update and it now looks as though the next incremental update is arriving for Android users. As to be expected, this update brings the Hangouts app up to version 5.1. In terms of the changes, again, there does not seem to be a whole lot to comment on right now, with most of the changes being noted being the typical bug fixes and performance improvements. The details do note that there are specific updates for the Send button and the interface, although, at the moment how significant these are, remains to be seen. Either way, the update is beginning to roll out and should reach your app soon enough. However, if you would rather push the update to your device yourself and avoid waiting any longer, then you can by pulling the APK from the link below and sideloading to your device in the normal manner.
