An app called InstantReplay has just recently launched on the Play Store which aims to bring some useful features to anyone who is involved with the nature of sports on a serious level, whether it be high school, college, or professional. It also doesn’t matter if you’re the coach or someone who might shoot footage of the games, InstantReplay gives people in the sports industry some serious tools utilizing just a smartphone or other Android mobile device. What does it do? It records the gameplay for playback later on so it can be viewed from the sidelines to go back over plays, allowing you to analyze things for improvement.
Past that though, the app also lets you connect up multiple devices over WiFi to work with each other, so one or more devices can broadcast the video out being recorded while the others can work as receivers and view the video. In the end, it results in a connected hub of tools to use for the team. If you have multiple devices you can set up each device to record from separate angles so you can catch just about every inch of the game, this way when playback begins you can make any adjustments to the plays as needed.
Devices don’t need to be connected to the internet to record, and once they’re set up the configuration never has to be reset making things smooth and simple as the broadcasters and receivers remember their role once connected to the same WiFi network. The app also gives tons of options like multiple resolutions and frame rate for the recording process, you can slow video down, and you can zoom and pan videos. You also have access to multiple filter options, and multiple ways to start and stop playback. TechSmith has made it so the app can organize all the videos too so things are easier to find later on, with tags, groupings by session time, and the intelligent auto-advance feature makes video playback start immediately and automatically once a receiver device gets the video from the broadcaster. The app itself is free to install but does eventually come with an annual fee of $500 after a 15-day trial. It also only supports Football at the moment but the app development team states more sports on going to be worked in with future updates.
