CEATEC, which is short for Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies, is ongoing in Japan. This tradeshow is, much like IFA, CES and MWC, being held every year in that Asian country. We usually get to see some innovative and rather interesting tech being showed off during CEATEC, and it seems like this year won’t be a disappointment either. Now, we’ve been seeing a lot of smart gadgets being released this year, like smart scales, smart lightbulbs, smart water purifiers and so on. What about a smart laundry folding machine? Read on.
This may sound funny, and perhaps it is, but Seven Dreamers Laboratories alongside Panasonic and Daiwa House Industry have unveiled Laundroid, a fully automatic laundry folding machine. This may sound like one of those ‘I-really-don’t-need-it’ gadgets, but it’s here, and it could make laundry folding painless for those of you who simply hate to do it (and have cash to burn). The Laundroid is quite huge, it’s the size of a fridge, and it will take care of your laundry from start to finish as far as folding goes. You won’t need to separate it by type before you use the machine, Laundroid will recognize your shirts, towels, pants… and will get to work.
There are a number of details that haven’t been revealed just yet, like, for example, we still don’t know if you need to iron your clothes before using Laundroid or not. Interesting enough, these companies are actually planning to push this tech a step forward and ship an all-in-one device which will wash, dry and fold your clothes for you, making the whole process completely automatic. This gadget is expected to arrive by 2019, so there’s quite a while before we’ll see it out in the market. The all-in-one device would be very interesting, and quite handy as well, it would make the whole process completely automatic. We’re not sure how useful the Laundroid is / will be, but in case you want something like that, there’s always an option. This gadget will presumably be available out in the market soon, we still don’t know the release date.
