Letv has announced three devices back in April, the Le 1, Le 1 Pro and Le Max devices. These three handsets are Letv’s first smartphones ever considering this company is, first and foremost, a video streaming giant in China. They seem to be really serious when it comes to their smartphone business, the three devices they announced (dubbed ‘Le Superphones’) are actually quite good, and Letv has interesting plans for the future. The company has already teased that they’re working on a smartphone which will ship with the Snapdragon 820 SoC on the inside, and now we finally have some official news coming from the company, read on.
Letv has officially teased their upcoming event through an image the company released in China. If you take a look at the image above this article, you’ll get to see what we’re talking about here. The event will take place on October 27th, and the Letv Le Max 2 handset might be launched at the event. The image doesn’t exactly mention Le Max handset, but the big number two is here, and we’ve seen plenty of Le Max leaks in the past couple of weeks. You might also notice that Letv mentions Apple on this teaser for some reason, we still don’t know why, but this China-based smartphone OEM is not particularly fond of the Cupertino giant considering they actually referred to them as the ‘Hitler of the smartphone world’ back in April.
That being said, let’s take a look at Le Max 2’s leaked specs, shall we. According to most leaks we’ve seen thus far, the Letv might sport a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Interesting enough, a particular rumor actually mentioned that 6GB of RAM might be included, but we somehow doubt that. The Snapdragon 820 SoC has been mentioned as Letv’s processor of choice here, but that chip will be available starting in Q1 2016. It is possible that Letv plans to announce this device ahead of time and release it in January though, we’ll see. The 21-megapixel shooter has also been mentioned, and quick charging tech will also be included in this package. The Le Max 2 will quite probably be made out of metal, just like its predecessor. That’s more or less it, the event will take place in about 2 weeks, so stay tuned.
