Meizu has announced a number of devices this year, and the Meizu PRO 5 is the latest announced handset. This smartphone is actually the company’s flagship, and one of the better-specced phones we’ve seen reach the market this year. The PRO 5 was actually Meizu’s fifth announced device this year, and we are wondering what comes next from Meizu. Well, if the newly surfaced smartwatch is any indication, Meizu might announce a new wearable in the coming weeks, read on.
Meizu-branded smartwatch (display) has leaked quite a long time ago, but the company didn’t announce anything of the sort to date. A Meizu-branded smartwatch was actually spotted at the Hong Kong Electronics fair, as you can see in the images down below. Meizu’s logo is quite visible on the back of the smartwatch, but we still can’t confirm this is the real deal. Now, as you all know, Meizu plans to announce a metal-clad ‘Blue Charm’ device on October 21st. This will quite probably be a new M2 Note variant, or perhaps the M3 Note, we’ll see. Interesting enough, this smartwatch might launch alongside the smartphone, at least according to a rumor from China.
Now, if we take a closer look at the smartwatch, you’ll notice that it sports a circular display, and it actually reminds us of the LG G Watch R. It looks like a blend between a classic and a sporty watch, while a leather band is also there. On the bottom of the watch you’ll notice four pogo pins which will be used for charging, so we’ll probably see some sort of a charging cradle ship with the watch, presuming this is the real deal, of course. Unfortunately, this smartwatch probably won’t run Android Wear operating system, it is said to ship with YunOS, or something similar to that. it is also possible that Meizu adapted Flyme to run on a smartwatch, but that’s somewhat unlikely.
Considering this is just a leak and not a confirmed piece of news, take it with a grain of salt at the moment, and stay tuned for additional leaks that might surface before October 21st when this smartwatch will reportedly get to see the light of day.
