Today, a few users that pre-ordered the Nexus 6P got notification that their credit card or debit card had been charged. This means that their order is about to ship. Typically Google charges your card when they are in the process of shipping your product. So shipping is coming real soon. It’s still a bit strange that the Nexus 6P is shipping about a week after the Nexus 5X. Likely due to supply chain issues, which we had heard about from Huawei over in Canada a few weeks ago.
The Nexus 6P went up for pre-order on September 29th, the same day that the device was announced by Google in San Francisco. Google had completely sold out of the Nexus 6P on Wednesday (although more are coming, so don’t worry). And now it appears orders should start arriving on Monday at the earliest. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out our review of the Nexus 6P from earlier this week. Google and Huawei built the Nexus 6P together. Marking the first time that Google has worked with a Chinese manufacturer, and the Nexus 6P will likely be the most sold Huawei smartphone in the US. This should help open the door for Huawei to come into the US with a bigger presence. As it has helped other manufacturers in the past, gain a stronger market share. Just look at Samsung and LG after their Nexus partnerships.
Huawei has a 5.7-inch 2560×1440 resolution AMOLED display here on the Nexus 6P. As well as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB of RAM along with 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. However there is no microSD card slot on this Nexus 6P. It also has a hefty 3450mAh battery inside to keep it going all day long. Huawei and Google also are using Sony’s latest sensor, a 12.3-megapixel sensor that is larger than most other camera sensors allowing for more light to get into the picture. The Nexus 6P takes some amazing pictures, you can also check out our camera shootout between the Nexus 6P and last year’s Nexus 6, there’s some really surprising results there.
