ZTE has, much like Huawei, announced quite a few metal-clad smartphones this year. Many of those phones are quite compelling, like their Nubia Z9 line of devices which come from ZTE’s sub-brand company ‘Nubia’. ZTE has announced the Nubia Z9, Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini devices back in May. The Nubia Z9 is the company’s flagship smartphone and it sports no bezel on the sides, which makes it look quite appealing. The Nubia Z9 Max is a high-end offering by the company, while the Nubia Z9 Mini can be considered a mid-range smartphone with a premium build quality.
Anyhow, ‘Nubia’ is celebrating 3rd anniversary since it was founded back in 2012, and in order to celebrate it properly, the company has announced the special edition Nubia Z9, Z9 Max and Z9 Mini devices. The special editions phones have actually kept the naming of the original devices, with the addition of the word ‘Elite’ in there. All three of these phones will offer an updated software experience according to the company, and the Z9 Max Elite will offer a highly touch-sensitive frame which will offer an additional set of volume control functions as well as a fingerprint scanner. The Nubia Z9 Mini Elite packs in EyeVerify’s Eyeprint eye-pattern recognition technology, as well as FiT (Frame Interactive Technology). You can basically use the edge gestures to open certain apps or fire up certain functions on the device.
