OnePlus Announce Limited Edition Ceramic OnePlus X

Today, OnePlus took the veils off their latest device, the OnePlus X. This has been a smartphone which has seen a ton of leaks and information coming through in the past few weeks and now that we know the full details, it seems a number of the leaks and rumors were correct. However, one aspect which was not picked up on, was that in addition to releasing the standard OnePlus X smartphone, the company has also now announced a limited edition Ceramic OnePlus X.

As the name suggests, this is the OnePlus X, but one borne out of a Ceramic design. A design, which according to OnePlus takes a total of 25 days to be crafted. The ceramic body is firebaked for over 28 hours at 2,700 F. Which is then followed by a cool down period which takes another two full days to complete. Not to mention, it then has to go through various stages of polishing and so on to bring the back to the end-product level. A build which OnePlus state “is a feat of engineering and design“.

However, as mentioned, the Ceramic edition of the OnePlus X is a limited edition device and OnePlus has confirmed that only 10,000 of them are being made available. Although, not only does it seem to be a limited edition device, but it is also limited in the regions where consumers will be able to purchase the device, as OnePlus has also confirmed that the Ceramic OnePlus X will be available in Europe and India, with what seems to be no availability on offer to consumers in the U.S. In terms of the price, and as to be expected, the limited edition version will come with a premium price tag. One which OnePlus states will be €369. The OnePlus X Ceramic edition will be available following the initial OnePlus X Onyx launch and starting from November 24th. Last but not least, those interested will need to get an invite to pick up the Ceramic edition. Although, not just any old OnePlus Invite will do, as consumers will need to get their hands on a ‘Ceramic specific invite’ to purchase.
