OnePlus has released their OnePlus 2 handset back in July. The company has once again managed to deliver top of the line specs in their device, and make it really affordable at the same time. OnePlus 2 isn’t a perfect device, it certainly has its downside, but considering its specs, software and build quality, many people think it’s a steal at that price. Unfortunately, OnePlus decided to stick with their ‘invite only’ policy, so you basically need to get your hands on the invitation in order to buy this smartphone. Well, the company has decided to hold an ‘Open Sales’ even for the device soon, read on.
During the ‘Open Sales’ event you’ll be able to purchase the phone without an invite. OnePlus will basically provide a timeframe for you to purchase the device, and that’s it. The ‘Open Sales’ event will take place on October 12th, and you’ll have to pay attention to the timeframes because they’re divided into regions. Those of you who live in Asia will be able to purchase the device 12:00-13:00 HKT. As far as Europe goes, the phone will be available between 12:00 and 13:00 CEST, while those of you located in North America will be able to grab one between 12:00 and 1:00pm PDT. Those of you who live in India will be able to purchase the device without an invite through Amazon.in from 12:00-1:00pm IST. Interesting enough, this sale is taking place on the same date OnePlus is expected to unveil the mid-range OnePlus X device in India.
The OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) LTPS LCD display along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of non-expandable internal storage. The 3GB RAM / 16GB internal storage variant will be available later this year. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC, and packs a 3,300mAh battery on the inside. The 13-megapixel camera is available on the back of this device, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with the company’s Oxygen OS 2.1 available on top of Google’s OS. The device measures 151.8 x 74.9 x 9.9mm, while it weighs 175 grams. OnePlus 2 also sports a physical home button below the display which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. That’s more or less it, in case you’re interested in purchasing OnePlus 2, get ready to do that on October 12th.
