Samsung has released four flagship devices this year, two flagship smartphones and two flagship phablet handsets. That being said, we’ve also talked about the company’s mid-range offerings quite frequently this year as well. The ‘Galaxy O’ series of smartphones is expected to land soon, and be the looks of it, the Galaxy Grand On will be the first such device to hit the market. Well, the Galaxy Grand On and the Galaxy J2 smartphones were recently certified by the FCC it seems, read on.
According to the FCC filing, the Galaxy Grand On will offer 4G LTE support, which is something we weren’t aware of until now. The Galaxy J2 (SM-J200H), on the other hand, won’t sport 4G LTE connectivity. Interesting enough, the 4G LTE-enabled Galaxy J2 has been launched in India already, which means this 3G model might ship to other emerging markets and cost even less than its sibling.
The Galaxy Grand On will sport a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable native storage. The phone will be fueled by the Exynos 3475 SoC running at 1.3Ghz, and a 2,600mAh battery will be a part of this package as well. The 8-megapixel snapper will be available on the back of this phone, and a 5-megpaixel front-facing camera will be included as well. Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI available on top of Google’s Android OS.
The Galaxy J2, on the other hand, features a 4.7-inch qHD AMOLED panel, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. The 5-megapixel shooter is located on the back of this phone, and a 2-megapixel camera will be available up front. This device is powered by the Exynos 3475 SoC as well, and a 2,000mAh battery is available on the inside. This phone will ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and TouchWiz will be included here as well. As already mention, this variant of Galaxy J2 won’t offer 4G LTE connectivity. The Galaxy J2 measures 136.5 x 69 x 8.4mm, in case you were wondering.
