Twitter is one of the most popular platforms to instantly share what’s on your mind. They have more than 316 million active users each month who send over 500 million tweets a day. Still, sharing relevant information in less than 140 characters can be quite challenging. The developers named Transcendent Labs created an app for Android devices called Xcerpt for Twitter, which allow its users to share fragments from an article in a visually appealing way, so they get a better chance of being read. Plus, users can still comment with the 140 characters available.
Xcerpt is available through the Play Store, it can be downloaded for free and another good thing about it, is that it doesn’t feature any advertisements. The app features a simple and clean interface inspired by Material Design elements, this was made exclusively for Android, after all. This app is also responsive and easy to use. When users find an article they would like to share on Twitter, they can copy some of the text or take a screenshot, then open the app and they would be able to paste the text or choose one of the screenshots. The app will transform the text from the screenshots so that it can be edited. Alternatively, they can share the content directly to the app with Android’s sharing menu. After that, users can highlight the most important part of the text, change the background color (there are 15 different choices) or select a source from the clipboard, in case the app fails to recognize it automatically.
Once they have finished customizing it, a comment or a headline can be added and finally just hit the Tweet button to send it. The tweet will appear as usual and the fragment of the article will appear as an image. This way, in case your followers decide to visit the source link, they know exactly what the article is about. So anyone who has ever been annoyed by clicking the link to a seemingly interesting article just to find it was related to something else could find this app very useful.
