Top 10 Best Android Indian Smartphones – October 2015 Edition

As it’s the case every month, we’re back yet again bringing you top 10 best Android-powered devices in India. There are quite a few changes this month compared to September, some new devices have been announced in India and managed to shift things around. There are quite a few devices available in India and even though we wanted to list many more, there are only 10 slots available here. Anyhow, let’s get started, shall we.

10. Yureka (Plus) / Yuphoria

These three handsets are YU’s mid-range offerings which are at the same time very affordable. All of these devices are running Cyanogen OS out of the box, and do have a lot to offer, especially for that price. The Yuphoria costs around Rs. 6,999 ($107) in India, and the other two phones are priced at Rs. 8,999 ($137). You’ll hardly find more capable devices around that price point, so if you’re on a budget, this is something you can look into.

9. Meizu MX5

Meizu PRO 5 is Meizu’s latest flagship, but considering it’s still not available, Meizu MX5 definitely fits the bill. This handset has launched a couple of months ago, and it really has lots to offer for the price point. The 16GB variant of this smartphone is currently available for Rs. 19,999 from Snapdeal, in case you’re interested. You get 3GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, a fingerprint scanner, and a 20.7-megapixel camera as part of this package.

8. Sony Xperia Z5 Dual / Z5 Premium Dual

These two devices are some of our new additions to this list. The Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Premium handset are quite capable, but are also quite expensive in India. The two devices will be available for open purchase starting November 7th, and are priced at Rs. 52,990 and Rs. 62,990, respectively. It is also worth mentioning that the Xperia Z5 Premium is the first smartphone in the world to sport a 4K display, in case that’s something you’re interested in.

7. LG G4

LG G4 is not LG’s highest-end device anymore, but it sure is a high-end offering and theoretically still their flagship. The LG G4 sports a 5.5-inch QHD display, 3GB of RAM and a 16-megapixel camera on the back. This handset is slightly curved, and has lots of software features to offer. The 32GB model of this handset costs Rs. 36,990 in India, in case you’re interested in picking one up.

6. Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge

These two handsets were launched back in March this year, but are still Samsung’s flagship smartphones and one of the best devices out there. The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are quite pricey, but if you’re looking for a more compact smartphone that has all the specs like the bigger handsets, these two devices might be for you. You’ll get a 5.2-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and a 16-megapixel rear-facing shooter here.

5. LG Nexus 5X

The Nexus 5X has been announced last month by Google, and is already available in a number of regions around the world. The device costs Rs. 31,990 in India, and packs in a solid spec sheet along with the latest version of Android. The Nexus 5X sports a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display, 2GB of RAM and a 12.3-megapixel camera on the back. The phone also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back, and a front-facing speaker.

4. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 / S6 Edge Plus

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are the company’s flagship smartphones, while the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus are their premium phablet offerings. Both of them sport a premium set of specs, while they also have some unique features. The Note 5 ships with the S Pen stylus, while the S6 Edge Plus has a curved display on both sides. Samsung has pre-installed software features in each of these phones which take advantage of the S Pen, and in S6 Edge Plus’ case, the curved display.

3. OnePlus 2

OnePlus 2 is the company’s latest flagship. This smartphone features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM (3GB variant will be available soon) and is powered by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC. OnePlus 2 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed with the company’s Oxygen OS available on top. The phone is priced at Rs. 24,990 in India, but you’ll need an invite if you plan to pick one up.

2. Motorola Moto X Style

Moto X Style is one of three devices Motorola has announced earlier this year, and it’s also the company’s current flagship. The Moto X Style pricing starts at Rs. 29,999 for the 16GB model, and is available from Flipkart. This phablet features a 5.7-inch QHD display, 3GB of RAM and is powered by the Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor. The 21-megapixel shooter is available on the back, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here.

1. Huawei Nexus 6P

The Huawei Nexus 6P is the best Nexus device to date. This smartphone sports a solid metal build, great internals and great performance. Its camera is great actually, which is kind of odd for a Nexus device. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed here, and you’re basically guaranteed to get further updates considering this is a Nexus device. All in all, this phone is a complete package, and that’s the reason it’s currently number one on this list.
