Whether it’s a car dock, or a dock that goes alongside your bed, docks have been pretty meh. Only being able to keep it in landscape or portrait, and not being able to switch to the other orientation. A company by the name of Ventev has launched a new dock, that is available on Indiegogo now for funding. This dock is actually really cool. You can choose to put your phone in either landscape or portrait orientation. While the promotional video that they put together only shows an iPhone or an iPad, the company does say that this works for both iOS and Android devices. So no matter what device you have, you can still use the Chargestand. What’s the most interesting about this dock though, is that it has a built-in 3,000mAh battery. So you can use it to charge your device in a pinch if necessary. While they say it can charge your device twice, they mean for an iPhone, considering most Android smartphones have a 3,000mAh battery inside, it’ll be lucky to charge once.
According to Ventev, “The versatile stand designed to dock and charge your smartphone at home, at work, and on the go.”
One of the best features of the Chargestand is that the cord can be hidden inside the dock quite nicely. So you don’t have cords all over the place. Which is something we can all appreciate. To dock your phone, simply lift up the cover and place your phone down on the connector. And it’ll start charging instantly.
Ventev is looking to get $20,000 in funding, and at the time of writing this, the company has already raised over $14,000, so they’ll likely hit their goal. But you can still help fund the Ventev Chargestand. Starting at $39, which will get you 30% off of a Chargestand, which is going to cost around $60. At $49, you’ll get 20% off a purchase of the Chargestand and $59 gets you a Chargestand. The perks go all the way up to $118, which basically gets you four Chargestands for the price of two. Ventev is planning to get these Chargestands shipping in July of next year. Of course, there may be unseen delays there that might change that, but at this point that is the plan.
