Samsung’s latest gets unboxed and set up in our latest unboxing video for you. We got our hands on the Gear S2 back at IFA in Berlin this year and really liked what we saw. The watch is sleek, comes in a variety of colors and styles, and really looks unique among smartwatches. As a bonus it actually looks like a regular sporty watch rather than just a gadget, a massive difference from some of Samsung’s other smartwatches. Last year we reviewed the original Gear S, which was an elongated square (that’s a rectangle for those of us that clearly failed Kindergarten) that curved to match the natural curvature of your wrist. The improvement in design is off the charts to say the least, and we’re happy to see Samsung went back to the drawing board for this one.
Check out the unboxing video below to see what’s inside the package, as well as the initial setup and what needs to be done to pair it to your phone. What’s really awesome here is that there’s not only a 3G version of the watch that’s sold to allow it to be used as a standalone device, the standard one can also be paired with any Android phone running Android 4.4 KitKat or higher. Right now there’s some weird bugs keeping this watch from staying paired with Marshmallow devices, but there’s no doubt that’ll be sorted out soon.
