ZUK Z1 Reaching New Markets, Middle East First In Line

ZUK Mobile is a smartphone manufacturing company founded back in May. Despite the fact it has been founded half a year ago, this company has managed to get a lot of traction in the smartphone world already. They’ve released one handset in two variants, and something worth mentioning is the fact that Lenovo invested in this company. The ZUK Z1 is a really compelling offering, especially at that price point, but what’s even more interesting is the fact that ZUK is preparing to launch the Snapdragon 820-powered ZUK Z2 in Q1 2016. It seems like this company has big plans, and the newest piece of info we’ll share with you only confirms that.

The company is planning to hold a series of press conferences outside of China, and the first one will take place in Dubai on October 26th. ZUK has actually partnered up with Comtel, the biggest smartphone distributor in the Middle East. ZUK’s CMO will attend this conference, while execs from both Cyanogen and Qualcomm will also participate. It is quite obvious that ZUK plans to push their ZUK Z1 smartphone to more markets, and this conference will quite probably be a Middle East availability announcement or something to that effect. We still don’t know which regions will follow after Dubai, but we’ll keep you posted.

ZUK will announce the international variant of ZUK Z1 at said press conference, the variant of the device which is powered by the Cyanogen OS 12.1. As a reminder, the Chinese variant of ZUK Z1 is powered by ZUI, ZUK’s very own custom UI which comes pre-installed on top of Android. The ZUK Z1 features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 801 quad-core SoC along with an Adreno 330 GPU. The 13-megapixel shooter is available on the back of this device, and a rather big 4,100mAh battery is located on the inside. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device with either ZUI or Cyanogen OS 12.1 being installed on top of it (depending on the market). The ZUK Z1 also has a physical home button below the display which doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
