BlackBerry Priv is the first Android-powered smartphone released by this Canada-based smartphone OEM. BlackBerry hasn’t been doing all that well as far as smartphone sales go in the last couple of years, and have thus decided to try out their luck in the Android world. The Priv is BlackBerry’s first Android smartphone, and a very interesting device at that. This handset sports a slide-out physical keyboard characteristic for BlackBerry’s handsets, and is a very well designed piece of tech at that. The device has been available for sale for a while now in Black color option, and the folks over at Karalux have decided to release a gold-plated variant of this device, read on.
Karalux is a Vietnamese company which specializes in making gold-plated variants of today’s most popular smartphones. They’ve released a gold-plated variant of the LG V10, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, etc. Well, it’s BlackBerry Priv’s turn it seems. The company has released a gold-plated variant of the BlackBerry Priv, and it actually costs $1,300 for international consumers, the phone is priced at $1,100 in Vietnam. Karalux has included a 24K gold-plating here, and the device does look significantly different than the original. The BlackBerry Priv sports a 5.4-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 200GB via a microSD card). This handset is fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor along with an Adreno 418 GPU for graphics. The 18-megapixel OIS shooter is available on the back of this handset, and a 2-megapixel snapper can be found up front. The 3,410mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with some of BlackBerry’s additions on top of it. The device measures 147 x 77.2 x 9.4mm, while it weighs 192 grams. There you have it, the extremely pricey variant of the BlackBerry Priv, in case you have cash to burn, well… go for it.
