Although LG’s flagship phone was already in the market for several months, LG recently unveiled another top phone with a very unusual set of features and a gorgeous design. The giant 5.7-inch device comes with a signature smaller display on top of the main one, which is used to show notifications and extra information according to what you are doing with the phone at the moment, showing camera controls when you snap some photos, for example. Earlier this month the LG V10 began shipping in the U.S, China and Hong Kong, and LG stated that other key markets would be coming during the fourth quarter. Well, if you live in Canada and was hoping to put your hands on this gorgeous phone, we are sorry to inform that the phone won’t be coming to the country anytime soon.
The sad and disappointing revelation was made on a Facebook post, when an angry user asked LG Canada if they would be updating the status of the availability of the V10 on the country before Christmas. The answer took a couple of days to come out, but the social media team responded to the post, saying “Unfortunately, there aren’t any plans to bring the V10 to Canada” and encouraging the user to look for other phones from LG such as the G4. The user promptly replied to the comment saying that he has just bought 3 new iPhones: ” I don’t want a G4 when the rest of the world gets the V10″, so one less customer. This is rather curious, as Canada is an important market. When the phone was made available to the U.S. earlier this month, LG stated that they would be releasing the device on “key markets” in North America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Latin America. So, with Canada out of the game, it is to be seen if the handset will be heading to Mexico.
If you are unfamiliar with the specs, the handset sports a 5.7-inches QHD display and a dual front camera setting with 5MP each. The rear snapper has a 16 megapixels sensor with F/1.8 aperture, OIS 2.0, and laser auto-focus. On the back, you also have the LG-signature rear power and volume buttons, as well as a fingerprint scanner. The processor inside it is the Snapdragon 808, from Qualcomm, coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, which is pretty amazing. Additionally, you can increase the storage with microSD cards of up to 2 TB. A 3.000 mAh battery juices everything up and the device comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology which allows for it to get 50% charge in just under 40 minutes. The LG V10 has a starting price of $599 unlocked, and LG also gives you a 200 GB microSD card for “free”.
