Micromax is the biggest India-based smartphone OEM at the moment. This company is actually second-placed in India as far as market share goes, only Samsung trumps Micromax at the moment. That being said, Micromax’s devices are quite popular in India, and this company tends to release quite a few of them a year. The latest device in Micromax’s arsenal has been listed on eBay quite recently, and it’s called Canvas Nitro 3. Let’s take a look at what this mid-ranger has to offer, shall we.
The Canvas Nitro 3 is a direct successor to the Canvas Nitro 2 which was announced earlier this year. Interesting enough, Micromax still hasn’t listed this phone on their website, but the eBay listing does share all the necessary details. Someone is selling this phone on eBay for Rs. 8,130, though this probably isn’t the retail price of the device, so keep that in mind. Anyhow, the Canvas Nitro 3 sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6592M octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4GHz, and a 2,500mAh battery is located on the inside. The 13-megapixel shooter (OmniVision’s OV13850 sensor, f/2.2 aperture) is available on the back of this device, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera (84-degree wide angle lens, f/2.2 aperture) is also a part of this package. Interesting enough, you get the LED flash on both the back and front of this handset.
As far as software is concerned, the Canvas Nitro 3 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed with Micromax’s additions on top, of course. The phone is available in a Blue color options only (for now), and the phone is expected to cost around Rs. 8,000. Micromax is expected to officially unveil this smartphone really soon, probably in the coming days. All in all, the Canvas Nitro 3 is a solid mid-range offering by Micromax, and depending on its price, it might even be a good seller in India. There’s nothing special about it, but if you’re looking for something like this and don’t plan on spending a whole lot of money, well.. this might be just the phone for you.
