Third-party launchers are a pretty big deal here on Android. And for good reason. They allow you to customize your device a bit more, and one of our favorite features of those third-party launchers is the ability to use an icon pack. Using an icon pack will change the app icons on your home screens as well as in the app drawer. Making your phone reflect your own taste, a bit more. There are plenty of icon packs out there, loads of them, but one that caught our eye was the Marshmallow Icon Pack here by Samy Design.
This Marshmallow Icon Pack is available in a demo mode that is free, or paid at $1.79. Obviously the paid will have more icons themed and such. Speaking of themed icons, here we have over 600 icons that are already redesigned to meet this theme, and there are more being added. Each icon supported in this pack has been “cut, folded and lit as paper would be” and it looks fantastic. The developer really paid attention to detail here with this icon pack, and it has clean folds and crisp edges on each icon. The developer also touts how the matte-like finish interacts with light through subtle highlights. It also has consistent shadows making the icons really pop.
Included with the icon pack, you get about 10 Marshmallow wallpapers, which are all stored in the cloud. This way the application is as lightweight as it can be. Included in the app is also a way to request icons, and shortcuts to apply icons to your favorite launchers. Which it supports a number of launchers, including Aviate, Arrow, Action, ADW, Apex, Nova and a few others. So no matter what launcher you are using, chances are this icon pack is supported.
There are some great looking icons here in this Marshmallow Icon Pack. The developer also notes that some users may experience a crash with the app if they are on Android 4.4 or lower. This is due to the Material Design theme, and that a workaround is to apply them through your launcher instead. This Marshmallow Icon Pack is available on the Google Play Store right now, for just $1.79.
