Smartphones are a standard these days, pretty much everyone has one. The smartphone industry is still growing and evolving, and it will be interesting to see where it goes in a couple of years. Anyhow, we’ve seen a number of interesting smartphone-related surveys this year, and CNBC has just released a number of interesting info that you might be interested in under the ‘Mobile Elite 2015’ naming. Android devices are still on the very top amongst the c-suite member (corporate level employees, executives), but according to the provided info, they’ve seen an overall decline in ownership in the last 12 months (4% year-on-year). Another interesting piece of info here, a quarter of them actually uses a Samsung-branded device, 39% of EMEA, 51% in Asia and 28% in the United States. Most of those executives prefer to access new content on their handsets early in the morning (87%), and 6/10 of them reach for their phones the moment they wake up. Basically every single executive included in this survey owns a smartphone, which is to be expected, it’s hard to do business these days without having a constant access to a smartphone. According to CNBC’s survey which was conducted across Asia, Europe and the US, the volume of news and business content consumed by executives have increased 45-60% since 2014.
”With mobile saturation at an all-time high, we’re now seeing business executives shifting their attentions towards a more connected lifestyle. With a slowdown in hardware innovation in 2015, the survey suggests that global executives are unlocking the potential of their technology to be more connected, more of the time. We could be witnessing the start of the next mobile renaissance,” said Mike Jeanes, Director of Research, EMEA at CNBC.
