Elephone has been a quite frequent visitor of news headlines recently. This China-based company is working on some interesting devices, like the Android Wear-powered ELE Watch which will arrive next month, or the Elephone P9000 which has no bezel on the sides. The company also plans to release an Elephone Vowney high-end devices, and an additional two P9000 devices (P9000c and P9000 Lite) which will be mid-range. All in all, we can expect to see some really compelling products from the company soon.
That being said, Elephone has released some info on another interesting project they’re working on. If you visit the company’s official Twitter handle (source link down below), you’ll get to see 5 images accompanied by a rather interesting caption. Our source at the company has reached out and gave us some additional info when it comes to this. Elephone has basically manufactured a smartphone, called ‘Elephone 8’, which sports a 5.3-inch display, and has included leather on the top and bottom of it. Now, the interesting thing is that they’ll let consumers decide if the phone will be available for purchase or not. That’s not all though, you’ll also be able to decide on the color of the leather on top and bottom. Elephone is currently asking for some feedback, so if you’re interested, visit the source link down below.
Now, looking at this smartphone, it seems like it’s made out of metal and leather. The leather part is a bit of a surprise, but we’re used to seeing metal devices from Elephone, they’ve been making such phones for a long time now. This company has actually been manufacturing low and mid-range phones made out of metal for a long time before they decided to start releasing some higher-end offerings. The phone definitely sports an interesting design all around, and if they manage to offer it in various different colors (both metal and leather), this device might be somewhat compelling, presuming they’ll include some solid specs on the inside. Speaking of which, we still don’t have any info on the specs of this phone, but we’ll let you know as soon as we get some additional details, stay tuned.
