Fans of the famed video game franchise from Bethesda Softworks known as Fallout only have a week left to wait before the game hits store shelves and digital outlets like Steam, and while it may not be the super limited Pip-Boy edition of the game, Bethesda is giving fans a new way to live all things post-apocalyptic with a recently launched app today call Fallout C.H.A.T. This would be Bethesda’s second application released to smartphones following the mega-popular smartphone game called Fallout Shelter, in which gamers can build up their own Vault and populate it with individuals looking to escape the dangers of the outside world.
With Fallout C.H.A.T. you aren’t actually using your preferred messaging app of choice, rather you “create a new communication” within the app and then share it with any of the other apps which allow sharing, I.E. Hangouts, SMS apps, Facebook etc. If they’re Vault-Tec approved, of course. When creating a new communication, you can type up a message and add emojis based on the Fallout games with over 60 emojis to choose from. After you’re done creating your new message, you can tap the “OK” button and essentially what the app does is create an image for you that you can share with other apps.
There are also a collection of Vault Boy GIF images that you can select and share directly in a message too, and there are other fun options like changing the background color that shows up for your communication with options for black, white, and a tan color. It’s definitely a neat little app for anyone who loves the Fallout series, and it can be a fun way to send quick communications to friends who share that love for the games. Since there is no actual integration with other existing messaging applications it may turn some users off, but if that doesn’t bother you and don’t mind simply sending custom created images that include the text and emojis/GIFs you insert, then you can check out Fallout C.H.A.T. for free as the app doesn’t cost anything and is already live in the Play Store as of now.
