CyanogenMod is probably the most popular Android AOSP ROM out there. This ROM has been around for a long time, it was launched back in 2009, and has come a long way since then. Cyanogen has actually released a commercialized variant of this ROM known as the Cyanogen OS which ships with a number of Android-powered devices out there, and is installed on top of Google’s OS. That being said, it was just a matter of time before Cyanogen pushes out first nightly builds based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and that has happened a couple of days ago. Well, the company has added two additional CyanogenMod 13 ROMs to their official page, read on.
In addition to the nightly added the other day, Cyanogen has now released nightly builds for the Google Nexus 5X and 6P as well. The two builds are codenamed ‘bullhead’ and ‘angler’, respectively, and you can get them if you follow the source link down below. Now, keep in mind that these are not final versions of the software, these are the first nightly (test) builds of CyanogenMod 13 for these two handsets, so chances are you’ll stumble upon quite a few bugs in there. Some features on your device might not work properly, so if you’re planning to install this on your daily driver, you might think twice before you do it. It will take some time before Cyanogen removes unwanted bugs and makes all features run smoothly. The good news is, the company releases new builds really fast for pretty much every supported device, and these two phones are amongst the most popular ones at the moment. The Google Nexus 5X and 6P both ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and both sport the same 12.3-megapixel snapper by Sony. Judging by DxOMark and our own review experience, these two handsets sport one of the best mobile cameras out there at the moment. The two handsets are fairly different as far as other specs go, the Nexus 5X is a mid to high-end phone, while the Nexus 6P is definitely a premium offering by Google.
