Google seems to always be on a constant mission to improve their products, and the latest addition comes to Calendar for the web interface. Up until now there has been no way to retrieve events or calendar adds that you may have accidentally removed, and today Google is rectifying that by giving the calendar web app a trash can option so you can find all of the deleted events and, if need be, restore them back to your calendar which may happen to be the rightful place until you’re done with it. This shouldn’t surprise people too much as Google already offers trash cans for their Gmail and Google Drive services, so it was really only a matter of time before Calendar got one too.
Perhaps it’s a bit overdue for some users, but now with Calendar’s trash can page you can use the service free of worry that you might get rid of something you weren’t quite finished with. If this happens you can simply restore it back to the original standing and move along with what you were doing. To access the trash can in Google Calendar all you’ll have to do is navigate to the dropdown panel, which should be located in the top left corner of the page under the “my calendars” label. You’ll first need to select which calendar you’re trying to access the trash for, so under “my calendars” click on the drop-down arrow button for the specific calendar you want to access. The pop-up box that shows up will have the trash listed as an option.
Alternatively, you can also access the trash from the settings menu within calendar if this is a location you may feel is more familiar for this type of function. Presumably, deleted calendar events will stay in your trash until you empty it, and there doesn’t seem to be an option for setting up to automatically empty the trash at certain intervals, so you’ll have to manually clear it event by event or with a clear all button. The option should already be live for most users but Google does mention it will take the next few days for it to show up for everyone.
