You may have noticed in your various social media feeds that it is now Black Friday season with the amount of deals and deal-related news coming through. However, that is not the only big news which seems to be hitting everyone’s social media feeds at the moment, There is the other big news of now, which is that a new Star Wars movie is set to be released. By now, whether you are a lover of Star Wars or not, you are probably acutely aware that the movie is ‘The Force Awakens’ and is set to be released in the coming weeks.
Well, one company who seems to be getting into the Star Wars spirit of things is Google, as the Search giant has now included a Star Wars themed Easter Egg in their biggest money-maker, Google Search. In short, if you head over to Search now and type in “A long time ago in a galaxy far far away” then you will get the results for the search, but not in the way you are used to. Instead, the results for the phrase are displayed in a Star Wars intro scrolling fashion. So far, the redesigned Star Wars themed search seems to be working on both mobile and desktop versions of Search with the same scrolling look included.
Of course, this is not the only Easter Egg or even Star Wars related theme that Google has been including in the build up to the event. Only yesterday reports come through that Google were letting you ‘choose your side‘ which results in a number of their apps and services reflecting the side you have chosen. While, on a wider scale, it seems Google might be a little obsessed with all things space-related as the company were also recently reported to have been working on a real-life Star Trek communicator. Although, that is a project which looks to have since been abandoned without it making it past the testing phase. Either way, if you want to check out a Star Wars themed scrolling news feed, then head over to the Search on your desktop or mobile.
