Google Shows Thanks To Project Fi Users With Lego Kit Gifts

Project Fi by carrier standards is already pretty unconventional, and since the official announcement and launch of the service earlier this year it’s been mostly a hit with subscribers, short of a couple of drawbacks like handset support, and the requirement for an invite to the service. Nevertheless Google’s wireless carrier project can only get better, and they certainly want to make sure that current subscribers are being shown some appreciation for their continued support of the service as it continues to grow and expand into something better than it is now. They’re doing this by sending out gifts for the holidays.

According to multiple users on Google+ who also happen to be subscribers of Project Fi, Google is sending out Lego Kits as a holiday gift to some subscribers. Not all Fi customers seem to be receiving these kits, and there’s no clear detail as to what constitutes Google sending them out to the subscribers that have them, so there’s no way to know if you’ll end up getting one yourself. The Lego kit comes with an attached message that states, “Thanks for your support. Let’s build on this,” which seems like a fitting message for the item. Since these are Legos they can be built into a number of different things although there aren’t hundreds of pieces so what you do build will be limited.

It seems the idea tough, was to send these out as a means to build a smartphone charging stand, and the accompanying message Google sent out comes displayed on the front of an instruction booklet that shows people how to built the stand for use. All the pieces are of course, designed in the themed colors of Project Fi. This wouldn’t be the first gift Google sent out to Project Fi subscribers, as a number of customers have ended up getting free Project Fi accessories to go with their purchase of the Nexus 6 and subscription to the carrier service. Being this close to the holidays, this is a friendly little reminder that Project Fi wants to see its customers happy, and what better way to do so than with a cool item like this one.
