HTC isn’t doing all that well as far as sales are concerned. This Taiwan-based smartphone OEM has been having issues selling their handset for quite some time now, and their profits reflect that. The company is trying to turn things around, and as part of that plan they’ve unveiled the mid-range One A9 handset back in October. We’ve already reviewed the HTC One A9 in case you’d like to check that out. That being said, the handset has been announced in the US, and it had a relatively limited availability thus far. Well, the phone is about to be released in yet another country, read on.
This Taiwanese smartphone OEM has started sending out invitations for their November 25th event. This is quite obviously the One A9 event considering the invite resembles the original one HTC sent out, not to mention that the device is already listed on HTC India’s official website. The HTC One A9 features a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) 2.5D AMOLED display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The handset is powered by the Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel OIS snapper (BSI sensor, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture) is available on the back of the device, along with an LED flash. The 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) is located on the front side of this phone, and a 2,150mAh battery is available on the inside. Speaking of the battery, you do get a Quick Charge 3.0 functionality here. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed here with HTC’s Sense UI available on top of it. The phone offers 4G LTE connectivity, and if also offers Dolby Audio sound (24-bit, 192kHz supported by Hi-Fi DAC). The phone measures 145.75 x 70.8 x 7.26mm, while it weighs 143 grams.
The HTC One A9 originally launched in Carbon Gray, Deep Garnet and Topaz Gold color options. The phone was priced at $399 at launch, and now costs $499 in the US, so you can expect it to cost somewhere between Rs. 26,000 and Rs. 35,000 in India. That’s pretty much it, HTC will unveil this smartphone in India on Wednesday, so stay tuned for that, we’ll keep you posted.
