So far today, much of the smartwatch talk has surrounded the newly announced TAG Heuer Connected watch. This is the first connected watch to come from the company and one which is largely being considered to be the first, ‘true’ luxury Android Wear smartwatch. Not to mention, it is one which also comes sporting a luxury price, as this is one which comes boasting a very expensive $1500 price tag. However, smartwatches are no longer as new as they used to be and there are a number of already more higher-end watches on offer and from many of the top smartphone makers, with the likes of the LG Watch Urbane, the Huawei Watch and the Samsung Gear S2, to name but a few.
In terms of the latter of these, the Samsung Gear S2 is one which comes sporting some of the more novel and interesting features, thanks to its reliance on the Tizen operating system and instead of the more stock Android Wear operating system, that the likes of the TAG Heuer Connected watch has to make do with. One of those features is the use of its dial as a means of controlling the watch. This is probably more better known as the “rotatable bezel” and allows the use to simply rotate the bezel and adjust aspects or initiate commands.
Well, Samsung has released a new video in the last few days promoting the Gear S2 and in particular, focusing on the use of the dial. The video highlights how the dial works, some of the ways in which it can be used and name-drops a few of the apps which have already been integrated to make use of the dial feature. The video does also offer a small insight to the 3G enabled version as well, which will allow the use of call making independently. Avoiding the need to be used along with a smartphone. For those interested in checking out the video, it is quite a short one at thirty seconds in duration and comes with entitled “Dial In”. You can check out the video in full by hitting play below.
