LG is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world. The company’s flagship ‘G’ line of devices has become very popular over the years, and their latest LG G4 handset is one of the best smartphones to date. LG has released the V10 phablet quite recently, a rather interesting phone which sports great build quality, and a separate screen up top. The V10 is clearly a test device, but the LG G4 remains the company’s flagship, even though it’s somewhat inferior to V10 in terms of sheer power.
That being said, the LG G4 has been announced back in April, and it is to be expected that its predecessor will be announced around that time next year. Despite the fact only half a year has passed since the announcement of the LG G4, the LG G5 rumors have started popping up. According to a new rumor, the LG G5 might sport an all-metal build, which was to be expected though. The V10 sports a ‘Dura Guard’ stainless steel frame, and the competition is making all-metal smartphones already, so the G5 will, quite probably, be made out of metal as well. Now, it remains to be seen if LG will opt for an all-metal design, as today’s rumor claims, or perhaps they decided for something else (like with the V10).
It is worth mentioning that this rumor comes directly from South Korea, LG’s homeland. LG’s biggest competitor, Samsung, has released four flagships this year, two smartphones and two tablets, and they all sport an all-metal build. Huawei, the third biggest smartphone OEM, has been manufacturing an all-metal phones for quite some time now, and same can be said for Apple. It’s about time LG joins the rest of the crowd, at least that’s what we expect the company to do. I’m sure we’ll see plenty more LG G5 rumors before the phone gets announced, presuming LG doesn’t change their release cycle altogether and announces this handset ahead of time. Either way, stay tuned, we’ll do our best to keep you informed when it comes to this handset.
