As you may already know, Xiaomi has scheduled an event for November 24th. Judging by a number of leaks we’ve seen in the last couple of weeks, the Redmi Note 2 Pro will definitely be launched at said event. The company’s CEO has already teased the arrival of that smartphone, so that basically confirms it. Considering that Xiaomi refers to this even as the ‘Grand Finale’, we were expecting the company to announce additional hardware, and it seems like that assumption was spot on. Xiaomi’s President has teased the arrival of Mi Pad 2 yesterday as well.
That being said, Lin Bin has shared a partial image of the tablet as part of his teaser, but we didn’t know how will the tablet look like as a whole. Well, that part might have been revealed on Weibo (Chinese) social network. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see the alleged Mi Pad 2 tablet in all its metal glory. This leak actually goes hand-in-hand with the image Lin Bin shared yesterday, at least the upper back portion of the tablet’s design. Speaking of which, the Mi Pad 2 will be made out of metal, and both its physical home button will be available on its right-hand side. According to this leak, Xiaomi’s branding will be placed in the upper left corner of the tablet’s front side, and also on the lower back side of the tablet. It seems like Xiaomi doesn’t have any intention to incorporate flash next to the rear-facing camera, which is understandable considering this is a tablet which will probably be 8.9-inches+ big.
The alleged Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 tablet has surfaced on Geekbench recently, and according to that listing, the tablet will be powered by Intel’s SoC running at 2.2GHz, and will ship with 2GB of RAM. Now, it is possible that Xiaomi is getting ready to release two variants of this tablet, one of which will sport 3GB of RAM, but that’s just a presumption, we’ll have to wait and see what happens. As far as the display goes, we’re still not sure, but you can expect this tablet to be over 7, 8-inches big, it will probably sport a 9 or 10-inch display.
