Motorola has done a really good job this year. The company has refreshed their smartphone lineup, and has released the 2nd-gen Moto 360 smartwatch. The new smartwatch is a step up compared to its predecessor in more or less every way. The smartwatch now sports a much more capable processor, a bigger battery, and Motorola has also resolved some minor design issues, if we can even call them that. That being said, this smartwatch has been available in certain regions for quite some time now, but not in India. Well, that’s about to change soon, read on.
The company has started sending out invitations for the launch of their new smartwatch in India, and they’ve published that very same invitation on their official Twitter page. As you can see in the provided image, the Moto 360 is about to be launched in India soon, the event will take place on December 1st, so mark that date in your calendar if you’re interested. As a reminder, the Moto 360 (2015) costs $299.99 – $429.99 (depending on the version) in the US, which comes around to Rs. 20,000 – Rs. 29,000 in India. The pricing will probably not be identical in India, and the watch might end up being somewhat more expensive, but this is a nice guideline.
The Motorola Moto 360 (2nd-gen) is made out of metal, and it comes in two different sizes. The smaller watch (for women) sports a 42mm body with a 1.37-inch 360 x 225 display. The bigger, 46mm watch features a 1.56-inch 360 x 230 display, and is officially a men’s watch. The smaller variant of this smartwatch sports a 300mAh battery on the inside, while the bigger one ships with a 400mAh unit. Both of these watches are 11.5m tall, and come with Android Wear pre-installed, just like its predecessor. As you probably already know, Moto 360 (2015) can be customized via Moto Maker in the US, but that option probably won’t be available in India, so it remains to be seen which variants of the watch will Motorola offer in that Asian country. Either way you spin it, you’ll be able to replace the bands on the watch yourself, so that’s at least something.
