Google has announced two Nexus handsets at the end of September. This is the first time the Mountain View giant announced two Nexus phones at the same time. Google has launched the LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P devices, both of which are already available in certain regions, and have been well received by both consumers and media. It seems like more and more consumers want to get their hands on either of these two devices considering the trade-ins for Nexus 5 and 6 are out of control lately, read on.
According to trade-in sales data from CompareMyMobile, trade-ins of Nexus 5 and 6 handsets have risen quite a lot in the last four weeks. The Nexus 5 and 6 trades ur up 35.48% and 28.77%, respectively. The company’s Director, Ashley Turner, said that Nexus devices are ”slowly increasing dominance in the Android trade-in market”. These are great news for Google and their Nexus line, it seems like the company has really hit the target this time around. That being said, it is worth mentioning that Samsung’s Galaxy S line of devices still dominates the Android trade-in market with a total of 16.16% of all Android trade-ins in the last 4 weeks. The Galaxy S4 smartphone is the most traded-in device, it actually accounts for 6.71% Android trade-ins. The Nexus 5X and 6P share the same camera sensor and software, but are quite different both on the outside, and inside. The Nexus 5X sports a more regular design, 2GB of RAM, it is powered by the Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core SoC, and packs in a 2,700mAh non-removable battery, while it features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display. The Nexus 6P, on the other hand, features a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED panel along with 3GB of RAM, a 3,450mAh battery, and it is fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC. Both of these devices ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed, which means they’re the first Android 6.0 Marshmallow-powered handsets to hit the market.
