We’ve seen a lot of new brands come to life in China in the last year or so, and QiKU is one of them. This China-based company is backed by Qihoo 360, a very popular company in China. Anyhow, this company has introduced three handsets back in August, their first three smartphone devices. Well, the company has decided to release one of those devices in India, as it was revealed a couple of days ago. The company has announced the Qiku Terra 808 (also known as Q Terra) for the Indian smartphone market, read on.
The QiKU Terra 808 is a very well-specced smartphone. This phablet sports a 6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor along with an Adreno 418 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel dual-camera setup (f/1.8 aperture) is located on the back of this smartphone, and same can be said about the dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 8-megapixel shooter (wide-angle lens, FotoNation 4.0 tech) is available up front, and a 3,700mAh battery is also a part of this package. Speaking of which, this handset support Quick Charing, it comes with a 9V/2.2A turbo power adapter.
On the back of this phablet you’ll notice the fingerprint scanner, QiKU says that it can unlock the device in just 0.5 seconds. The phone will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with the custom 360 OS available on top of it, and it seems like the phone will be pre-rooted. The Terra 808 is actually made out of Magnesium Aluminum alloy called Magnalium, in case you were wondering. If you take a look at the handset itself, you’ll notice that it sports three capacitive buttons below the display, overview, home and back, respectively. The phone also features really thin bezels all around, and will be available in India starting December 5th from Gadgets360 online. Keep in mind that you’ll need a Q-Invite in order to purchase it though, and those invites will be available through QiKU’s website, forum and Gadgets360. The device comes in Gold and Silver color options and will cost Rs. 19,999 ($300) through Gadgets360. In case you don’t want to bother with Q-Invite, you’ll be able to purchase this phablet in open sale for Rs. 21,999 ($330).
