Sennheiser Intros Culture Plus Headset For UC Communications

Sennheiser is usually known for their top quality offerings in audio equipment like stereo headphones, earbuds, and speakers, but as of yesterday they have announced a new line of wired deployment headsets for use within the business world for Unified Communications purposes. These wired headsets, called the Culture Plus line, are designed specifically for the enterprise and business customers who are looking to “facilitate adoption of UC.” Sennheiser states that the headsets are certified with Skype for Business, but that they’re also compatible with all major UC and softphone brands. As offices begin to switch over to a UC-based communications environment, the Culture Plus headsets are aimed at providing better clarity of audio for both the person wearing the headsets and the callers.

Each Culture Plus headset connects to the computer through USB which should make setting them up much easier than plugging them into 3.5mm audio ports, and easy access controls with an in-line remote on the wire make it simple to manage all calls with buttons for the mic, volume, and a phone button for ending and initiating voice calls. The integrated mic has noise canceling technology built-in to ensure that sound quality and clarity of voice is front and center for callers. Sennheiser states that they have also built each headset with “ActiveGuard” technology which was developed to help prevent callers from hearing abrupt bursts of sound and acoustic shock.

While Sennheiser has designed these with the clarity of voice in mind, they have also designed them to be extremely comfortable, with a soft and adjustable leatherette padding on the inside of the headband, as well as large sized ear pads with the same leatherette padding on the outside. While the headband is flexible and adjustable, the earpad covers can be removed so they are capable of being replaced if needed. The headset also includes an adjustable boom mic which can be bent by the wearer to sit at just the right position for personalized use. Sennheiser has not specified the availability details of the Culture Plus headset just yet, but when it launches it should be available from Sennheiser’s online website.
