As some of you might know, yesterday was Singles Day in China. Singles Day is basically Chinese Black Friday, you can find all sorts of crazy discounts there, and it’s a big day for tech lovers as well. Many China-based companies offered discounted products, and as it was to be expected, Xiaomi and Huawei managed to outrun the competition, at least according to the latest report, read on.
According to the report, Huawei actually sits on top of the pile, the company lead the rankings in Gross Merchandise Volume, while Apple and Xiaomi actually sit on 2nd and 3rd place. Meizu and QiKU are close fourth and fifth, which are great results for these two companies. Now, in terms of total units sold, Xiaomi is actually placed first, while Huawei is second, and Meizu third. Apple and QiKU actually sit in fourth and fifth place in this category, respectively.
So, which devices were selling best yesterday? The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 leads the pack, while Huawei Honor Play 5X and Meizu Metal follow on 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. The Xiaomi Redmi 2A Enhanced Edition is 5th best selling phone, and it is followed by iPhone 6S, Huawei Honor Play 4C, Meizu M2, Xiaomi Mi 4c, iPhone 6 and Huawei Honor 7i. So, as you can see, Xiaomi, Huawei, Meizu and Apple were basically the stars of yesterday’s sales in China.
That is pretty much it. These results are somewhat expected, Xiaomi, Huawei and Meizu are basically the most popular companies in China at the moment, their devices are in high demand. Apple’s sales are somewhat surprising, but not all that much, iPhones always sell well during Singles Day. As a side note, keep in mind that Xiaomi is still offering all sorts of devices at discounted prices considering the company decided to turn 1 day of sales into 11, which are great news for consumers in China.
