If you are an avid music listener then chances are you are a subscriber to one of the many music streaming services there are currently available. Most notably, Spotify, Play Music, Deezer and so on. In fact, music streaming is becoming considerably big business of late.
However, if you are one of those looking to produce content to be streamed, a content creator, or even just a music listener who prefers some of the less commercial music, then chances are you are a SoundCloud user. This is a service which essentially allows music creators, DJ’s and the likes, to showcase their latest songs, tunes, mix-downs or mashups. A service which has grown considerably over the last few years and now includes a dedicated Android App. However, that app is more for the end-listeners like those tuning into Spotify, Play Music and Deezer etc. In spite of the large number of content providers and creators that SoundCloud does have, it has never really offered a decent app for those content creators. That does now seem to have changed today though as SoundCloud has released ‘SoundCloud Pulse’ for Android.
First up, if you’re a music listening then this is not really intended as an app for you. This is instead geared towards those who prepare and upload to SoundCloud. As such, with SoundCloud Pulse, music creators and DJs will be able to effectively manage their SoundCloud account, all from their mobile. In fact, this is not too dissimilar to what YouTube offers for its content creators, albeit for the SoundCloud platform. As well as general management of their account, users can interact with the local community, view stats for their uploaded content and generally just have a more hands-on approach to their content from a mobile device. If you are someone who does often make available content to SoundCloud then it is worth giving the app a try. The app is free to download, although you do need to have a SoundCloud account to access the app. However, it is probably taken for granted that you do have an account if you are already a content provider. Either way, you can check out the new app and all is has to offer by heading through the link below.
