Sprint's "Major" Nov. 18th Announcement Teases Savings

Sprint has been making quite a few changes to their network since Marcelo Claure took over at the helm, and it would seem the next big announcement to come from the nation’s now 4th largest wireless carrier will pop up tomorrow in the form of telephonic press conference. Although there are no real confirmed details to speak of at this time in regards to what the press conference is about, Sprint themselves have stated that the announcement from Claure will be a “major one,” and that Claure will be answering questions about the upcoming changes. The conference takes place tomorrow morning at 11:15 am CT, which is 9:15 am here on the west coast, and 12:15 on the east coast.

While Sprint hasn’t shared any information about the secret announcement, they do have a webpage up that seems to be dedicated to it that holds a countdown clock to the time of the conference. At the time of writing there are now 18 hours and 7 minutes left before the big reveal, the question remains just what Sprint has in store that is worth so much fanfare. Although things seem to be a secret for now, interestingly enough, Sprint makes a big deal on the promotional site for the announcement that secrets don’t make friends, and have even provided a little “give me a hint” button you can press to try and find out more. To no avail you end up with answers that really tell you nothing specific, but after a few clicks you end up with a message that says “The word of the day is savings. Oh, now I’ve told you too much.”

Another hint states “Half of me wants to tell you.. (That’s totally a hint, by the way.) This indicates or suggests that tomorrow’s announcement will end up being wireless plan related, with savings being a focus. So perhaps Sprint will be announcing a new set of plans at lower prices for consumers, or perhaps a new lower price for already existing plans, or double the data for the same cost. Although there are no exact details just yet, Sprint is clearly teasing a savings for their subscribers with an emphasis on something being half of what it was before the announcement. Savings is definitely the name of the game here, the question remains just how much savings are going to come into play.
