T-Mobile Doubles Data Caps to 2GB, 6GB and 10GB

During T-Mobile’s Uncarrier X announcement today in Los Angeles, the company’s CEO announced that they are doubling data caps on all of their plans. So for the individual plans which where 1GB, 3GB and 5GB, they are now 2GB, 6GB and 10GB respectively, and sticking to the same price. So for $50 you get 2GB of high-speed data along with unlimited talk and text. At $60, that goes to 6GB of high-speed data and includes Data Stash. And finally at $70, you get 10GB of high-speed data and that also includes Data Stash. Of course, you can still get truly unlimited high-speed data for $80 per month on T-Mobile.

There are more and more services that use more and more data that we use each and every day. Take a look at your data usage on your phone, and you’ll see some of those apps that are using the most data. With faster networks, we are also using more data and forcing many to get larger data caps. Which makes it nice to see these data caps getting doubled without seeing the price increase. These data caps have been doubled for both individual lines as well as family plans. T-Mobile has announced that these new data caps will be available starting this Sunday, November 15th. And the data cap should automatically be added to your account. If not, you can call up customer service and get it straightened out.

This is the latest in their Uncarrier moves, which isn’t the end of what John Legere has planned for today, he also just announced BingeOn to allow video to stream for free on their network. He has already stated that everything he announces today will be in regards to data, and dubbed today “Data Day”. So there’s plenty more to come. Uncarrier X is the company’s tenth Uncarrier movement which is all aimed at eliminating customer pain points. T-Mobile has added over 28 million customers since the first Uncarrier movement about 3 years ago. Making these Uncarrier movements pretty successful, and has also rocketed the carrier into the number three position in the US, beating out Sprint in the past few quarters. With today the company is getting rid of even more customer pain points.
