The smartphone market is one which is now seeing fierce competition at both the top and bottom ends. In particular, the bottom end is proving to be an interesting battle ground with the quality of the devices and their respective specs continually increasing, while their prices seeming to be falling consistently. Joining the ranks in this lower end of the market is the ZTE Prestige. Sprint has today announced that the ZTE Prestige will be available starting tomorrow from Boost Mobile. Following on from the already Boost Mobile ZTE range of devices which include the ZTE Boost Maz+ and the ZTE Warp Elite. Although, this is a device which is not going to excite tech enthusiasts, it is one which comes with a very compelling price.
In terms of the specs, the ZTE Prestige comes equipped with a 5-inch display. Inside, the ZTE Prestige offers 1GB RAM and is powered by a Quad-core processor (clocking at 1.1 GHz). In terms of storage, the ZTE Prestige comes equipped with 8GB internal storage and does offer the option to expand, thanks to the inclusion of a microSD card slot (up to 32GB). While in terms of cameras, the ZTE Prestige comes sporting a 5-megapixel rear camera which is coupled with a 2-megapixel front facing camera. This is a device which offers 4G LTE support and comes powered by a 2,300 mAh battery. For those wondering, the ZTE Prestige comes running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box.
So all, in all, this is not exactly a blazing spec-heavy device, although, it is clear that it is not meant to be. This is an ultra-affordable device. In fact the price tag being touted for the ZTE Prestige is only $99.99. Although, Sprint has confirmed today that in the run-up to the Holiday season, those interested can pick up the ZTE Prestige from Boost mobile for only $49.99. Essentially, half price. The promo price will be valid right up until January 3rd of next year. Boost Mobile did recently announce a redesign of their data plans in which consumers can see their data grow over time. So This could be a good option for those looking for a more affordable device heading in to 2016.
