The smartwatch industry is one which is growing quite substantially. That is, at least from the manufacturer perspective as it seems a new watch is being announced on a extremely routinely basis. Not to mention, with the introduction of the first TAG Heuer smartwatch, the market is now one which operates at most price-points. That said, whether or not you are familiar with Omate as a smartwatch manufacturer, they are a manufacturer who has been making and releasing a ton of smartwatches over the last couple of years. In fact, they have now just announced another one, the Omate Rise.
The big difference with this watch compared to the other offerings from the company, is that this one is a self-sufficient 3G-enabled smartwatch. To be clear, this is not their first 3G-enabled smartwatch, but this one does look to bring the functionality to the market at a much cheaper price, namely the $200 marker. Although, this price will only be available for early backers as the smartwatch is said to come with a full retail value of $349.99 when it officially hits its launch period in March of next year.
In terms of the specs, the Omate Rise is another watch which looks to make use of a ‘fully round’ display, one which comes with a 360 x 360 resolution and one which measures 1.3-inches. Inside, the Omate Rise comes equipped with 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and powered by a MediaTek (MT2601) dual-core processor along with a Mali-400 GPU processing the graphics. One point to note though, is like many of the other Omate watches, this one does not run on Android Wear but instead makes use of Android 5.1 (Lollipop) as an operating system, albeit in the form of OUI 4.0. In terms of the availability, the Omate Rise is currently in the announced stage and will be making its way to market as an Indiegogo campaign which is due to take flight starting from December 7th. In fact, the company has a countdown on their website as well as a sign-up list where you can stay informed about any further news which comes through. Head through the source link to find out more or sign-up for more news. Those hoping to pick one up ill have to do so quickly as the campaign is said to only be active for two days at the reduced price.
