Both Huawei and LG have manufactured Google’s Nexus handsets this year. LG was in charge of the more affordable Nexus 5X, and that is LG’s third time manufacturing a Nexus smartphone. Huawei, on the other hand, has manufactured a premium metal-clad Nexus 6P phablet with a great camera, and has, according to many people, done a great job. This is actually Huawei’s first time manufacturing a Nexus smartphone, or any Nexus device for that matter, and according to the latest report from China, it definitely won’t be the last, read on.
The China-based analyst, Pan Jiutang, has released some rather interesting news earlier today. He has said that the all-new Nexus handset which will be released in 2016 will be powered by the Snapdragon 820, and in addition to that, he has also said that Huawei will be its manufacturer. Now, neither Google nor Huawei have talked about a second Nexus smartphone, so this info can be considered pure speculation at the moment. As already mentioned though, Huawei did make a rather compelling device this time around, and it is possible that they’ll release another Nexus smartphone in 2016, we’ll see.
Now, Mr. Jiutang didn’t share any additional details regarding this project, and it’s way too early to speculate considering the fact that the next Nexus handset is due to arrive in Q3 or Q4 next year. The Snapdragon 820 SoC has been announced, and is due to be released in January, so that presumption could be accurate. Google tends to include Snapdragon SoCs in their Nexus devices, and considering the Snapdragon 820 processor will be QUalcomm’s most powerful offering next year, it makes perfect sense. It is also worth mentioning that Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 820 in China earlier today, following last month’s global announcement of this chip. That is pretty much it, we’ll hear more about the upcoming Nexus handset in the coming months, but won’t know anything for sure for quite some time now. Either way, stay tuned for more info, as usual.
