Chuwi Will Release A 12-Inch Dual Boot Tablet Next Month

We haven’t exactly seen that many tablets being released this year, at least not compared to previous years. Tablet sales are not booming at the moment, and there are a number of reasons why. 5.5-inch smartphones have become a standard these days, and we’ve also seen quite a few phablets being released as well. This might actually be one of the most important factors why tablets are not selling as well as they used to.

That being said, we’re still seeing some rather interesting tablet devices being released, and we’re here to talk about one such device, the Chuwi Hi12. Chuwi is a China-based company many of you have probably never heard of, but they have released quite a few tablets thus far, like the Chuwi DX1 and Hi8. The Chuwi Hi12 is their upcoming device which will arrive next month, and it’s quite an interesting product at that. Chuwi will first release the Windows 10 variant of this tablet, and soon after that the dual boot (Windows 10 + Android 5.1 Lollipop) model will follow. Our source at the company was kind enough to provide spec information and images of this tablet, so let’s check out what it has to offer.

The Chuwi Hi12 will feature a 12-inch 2160 x 1440 display (3:2 aspect ratio) along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). Intel’s X5 Cherry Trail Z8300 processor (max clock speed 1.84GHz) will fuel this tablet, and Intel’s 8th generation graphics chip will be included as well. The 11,000mAh battery will be included in this package as well, and you’ll find a 5-megapixel shooter on the back of the device. The 2-megapixel snapper will be placed up front, and the tablet will be available in Champagne Gold and Space Gray color options.

That is pretty much it as far as specs go, there are a couple of images available in the gallery down below for you to check out. Now, we still don’t know how much will this tablet cost, but you can expect it to sport a significantly lower price tag than its competitors. There you have it, as soon as Chuwi unveils this tablet, we’ll let you know, stay tuned for that.
