About a week ago, Samsung surprised everyone with the announcement of their new Galaxy A series lineup for 2016 because these phones really seem of offer a run for the money. The company didn’t give a specific timeline for its worldwide availability, with the exception of the Chinese market which will be able to pick them up in mid-December. If you are eager to put your hands on a shiny new Galaxy A3 or A5, we now know the likely release date to the European market, thanks to a leaked information by a Dutch retailer.
The two models will be available in the Netherlands as early as January 8th, exactly a month from now, and this is good news since other Western European markets usually get Samsung products at the same time as the Dutch, give or take a few days or a week. There’s no word about a U.S. release yet, though. If you live in the Netherlands, just head to the source link at the end of the article to pre-order your device, and check the delivery date as January, 8th, although there are only two color options – Gold and Black, so we have no word of the Pink Gold variant. The new Galaxy A phones offer an amazing upgrade from this year’s models, with a metal body combined with glass, just like what we have on flagship phones such as the Galaxy S6 family and Note 5.
If you are unfamiliar with the specs, let’s go through them. The Galaxy A3 did enjoy an upgrade from the previous model, but the big difference seen here is on both the A5 and A7, as they got a fingerprint sensor meaning they will support Samsung Pay out of the box, the batteries have also been upgraded and the two models now feature fast-charging technology. Another big selling point is the fact that their rear cameras have 13 megapixels with optical image stabilization, something that you do not see every day on a mid-range phone. The A3 features a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution, a 1.5 GHz unspecified quad-core processor and 1.5 GB of RAM. The A5 packs a 5.2-inch display while the A7 features a 5.5-inch screen, with both sporting a Full HD resolution. These two models come with a 1.6 GHz octa-core chipset and 2GB/3GB of RAM, respectively. In the Netherlands, the A3 will sell for €329 ($356) and the A5 will go for €429 ($465) and, as previously mentioned, the colors will be Gold and Black, with no word for the Pink Gold. We don’t have any word about the A7 yet but stay tuned for more news.
