Samsung has, for the first time, released a metal-clad flagship with the Galaxy S6 (and Galaxy S6 Edge) smartphone back in March. This Korea-based company has also introduced the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus phablets in August, both of which sport more or less same materials as the company’s flagship smartphones. That being said, it seems like Samsung will experience even more change in 2016, but this time around, in the software department, hardware probably won’t change all that much, at least not one the outside.
As many of you know, Samsung Mobile’s President, JK Shin, has stepped down earlier this month, and Dongjin Koh took his place. Now, soon after this announcement was made by Samsung, the newly-announced President has said that the company will focus more on software and services than ever before. Well, a new report from China actually claims that the Galaxy S7 will get a long-awaited revamp as far as software is concerned. The report claims that Samsung plans to take TouchWiz to a whole new level with their upcoming flagship, and focus far more on user experience and general optimizations. Samsung did improve the latest version of TouchWiz back when they introduced Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, but many people still think that’s not enough. There are a number of other Android skins out there which perform better than TouchWiz, and it seems like Samsung is ready to put an end to laggy TouchWiz and improve UI through and through.
It seems like Samsung Mobile’s new chief does not want to waste time, and is already making changes he feels are necessary, presuming this report is accurate, of course. I believe that many of you will welcome this change in TouchWiz, more optimized UI means better user experience, which is something all of us want, though Samsung did improve TouchWiz quite a bit already. It will be interesting to see what will the company do this time around, and if the changes will be underneath the surface only, or will they change the design as well. Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S7 at the end of February, and if software changes are to be made, that handset will quite probably be the first one to offer them in 2016.
