Right now the world is largely gripped with Star Wars fever and as such, there has been a ton of news, offers and so on coming through and all with a Star Wars theme in tow. In fact, it was just earlier today when it was reported that Verizon has switched on the ability to pick up a Star Wars inspired DROID Turbo 2 from their website.
Well, if you are not after picking up an entire phone but would like to get involved with the Star Wars action then you still can. It seems the Google Store is now offering Star Wars inspired versions of their virtual reality viewer, Cardboard. What’s more is that they are free. That is, they are completely free. As well as not having to pay for the actual Cardboard, it is also being sold for free with free shipping. So you literally can grab one for nothing right now. Although, it is worth pointing out that this deal is unlikely to last long so, if you do want to grab one you really should do now.
On offer are four different types of Star Wars themed Cardboard viewers and as such you can either choose from BB-8, First order Stormtrooper, Kylo Ren or R2-D2. For those wondering, these do seem to be the ones Verizon offered about a week ago. Although, those ones were only available through Verizon stores, making these ones far more accessible. It is also quickly worth pointing out that you can only get one order per Google account. So it is not worth trying to collect them all or get multiple copies of each. The Google Store will not allow you to add more than one to your cart and if you try to repeat order, you will end up getting a checkout error message. And this is more than likely only open to U.S. residents too. Either way though, if you are after a free Google Cardboard with a nice Star Wars theme over the top and for free, then now is the time to do so.
