Google introduced many products at their event in September, we got new Nexus devices, new Chromecast models and some software news. None of it was extremely surprising, as we had seen many leaks of those products, but Google also introduced a new member of their Pixel lineup. As you may know, unlike the Nexus models which are made by Google’s partners, the Pixel products are made by Google themselves and they feature premium designs and specs. The new Pixel C is the first tablet of the Pixel family, it features a full metallic build and it can be used with an optional Bluetooth keyboard with full sized keys to type more comfortably. The tablet is not yet on sale, but the company promised that it would be sold in time for the holidays.
According to a report by the Dutch site Tweakers, the Pixel C could become available in the Netherlands as soon as next week, on December 8th, to be precise. The report doesn’t mention if the tablet will be available on additional markets, but it would be quite strange if it was launched in that region exclusively. Apparently, the tablet and the keyboard dock will be available on the Google Store. There will be two variants, one with 32 GB of internal storage and another one with 64 GB priced at 499 and 599 euros, respectively, while the keyboard will cost 169 euros. Pricing in the US was $499 for the 32 GB model, $599 for the 64 GB model and $149 for the keyboard.
Other specs of the tablet include a 10.2-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1800 pixels, it is powered by a Nvidia Tegra X1 processor and 3 GB of RAM. There’s an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel one in the front. It has a USB Type-C connector and in runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The keyboard attaches magnetically to the tablet and it includes a hinge that rotates up to 135 degrees, so users can adjust it according to the desired viewing angle, it uses power from the tablet, but a charge should last for a couple of months. The keyboard comes in two finishes, leather and aluminum.
