As you all know, Google is the firm behind Android OS, so it’s not exactly surprising you can find tons of Google-made apps available in the Google Play Store. If you go check out Google’s page in the Play Store, you’ll get to see a rather big list of applications such as Google Drive, Google Keep, Authenticator, etc. Well, Google has added two more apps to that list yesterday, the company has released their Contacts and Phone applications to the Play Store, but they weren’t available for long, read on.
These two apps were posted yesterday, and were made available to all devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but it seems like Google pulled both applications from the store in the meantime. If you try to use either of the links which led to these apps, or try manually searching for them, you won’t have any luck. Google has removed both apps as we keep getting ‘We’re sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server.’ message whenever we try to open either one of these two applications. Now, we don’t know why Google pulled those apps from the Play Store, perhaps someone at Google jumped the gun and published them sooner than expected.
We’ll have to wait and see if Google re-posts these apps, or was it some sort of a mistake at Google that led to this. This isn’t exactly a problem for anyone because you couldn’t download these apps to your devices either way if it doesn’t run Marshmallow, and if it does, well, you have them on your phone anyway. These two apps did get some updated features though, the Contacts app got the ‘streamlined contact editing’ layout, as well as some bug fixes, while the Phone app got ‘call blocking’ feature. That’s pretty much it, it’s highly likely Google will re-post these apps soon because they did bring some updated features to the already existing apps on Android 6.0 Marshmallow devices. That being said, stay tuned, we’ll let you know if the two apps pop up on the Google Play store again.
