KeyMe Allows You To Scan Your Keys & Make Copies

There is an age-old saying, age-old in the smartphone context, that there is an app for everything and each day that sentiment seems to ring more true. One of the latest apps to become available on the Play Store is KeyMe. The purpose of this app is simply to make sure that you never have to worry about losing your keys, being locked out or otherwise. If you are wondering how the app hopes to achieve this, that is simple too, it essentially digitizes your keys.

KeyMe is an app which will allow its users to keep a copy of your keys in digital form. To make a copy, you simply scan the key and then the KeyMe software keeps a copy of your key on its servers. From then on, if you do find yourself in a position where you need a key and fast, you can order one to be made and pick it up from a number of the KeyMe kiosks dotted around. As you would expect, the app will also tell you where the nearest kiosk is to your current location. Of course, this is not just for emergency purposes and if you are someone who would just rather order a spare set of keys online, then you can do that too and once ordered, the keys will be mailed to you. In addition to simply replacing or creating spares, the software also allows you to create some more novel looking and themed keys, if that is what you would prefer. While you also even have the option to share a set of keys with someone by email. Good if you need someone to feed the cat while you are on holiday and had forgotten to give them the keys.

For those who will immediately be worried about security or other people scanning your keys, the app listing does make it clear that images of keys cannot be scanned and the actual key does need to be in someone’s possession before it can be scanned. Either way, if you would like to check the app out, it is available now through the Play Store and is free to download. Head through the link below to find out more.
