Samsung and LeBron James have a pretty long history. Using the Cleveland star to bring in other products to the NBA for promotion. Now Samsung has tapped LeBron James again for the Gear VR. Together they have put together a 12-minute virtual reality experience that Gear VR users can take part in. It’s great to see more and more content coming to Gear VR, especially with it gaining more and more exposure.
This virtual reality experience from Samsung and James is called “Striving for Greatness” and it features LeBron James training regimen as well as his routine and the level of focus that is needed to stay on top of his game as one of the best in the NBA right now (of course that all depends on who you ask). It’s a great way to show everyone what players have to do before taking the court, and that their job is more than just coming to the arena and playing a game that evening. Of course, in Virtual Reality it is way better, being able to see exactly what players go through daily, as well as being able to feel like you are actually there with LeBron James. Currently, the experience is available through the Samsung Milk VR as well as over on the Oculus Store. It’s a 12-minute long experience, and it’s very well done by Samsung and LeBron.
Virtual Reality has really become pretty popular in recent months. With the Gear VR from Samsung, Google Cardboard and the upcoming HTC Vive VR headset. It’s going to be real interesting to see where VR is in the next year or so, as it has already come so far. Now if only Samsung would make their Gear VR available for all Android devices, like they did recently with the Gear S2 smartwatch. If you haven’t already picked up a Gear VR, the newest one works with the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5, and is available from Best Buy for just $199. It’s definitely a great purchase if you’re into virtual reality, especially VR gaming.
